About
What is Youth Volunteer Corps?
Youth Volunteer Corps of Yellowstone County is a community service club that offers volunteer opportunities to youth ages 11-18 throughout Yellowstone County. Youth take on projects that allow them to discover, investigate , and address community needs. YVC is a program of The Volunteer Center of United Way of Yellowstone County.
Year-round opportunity
At YVC we have fun, explore the world of service and give back to our community. From crafting and hanging a mural in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to making sandwiches for a street outreach program or screen printing YVC T-shirts, we do projects with youth in mind.
School
During the school year we offer projects that take place on weekends and after school. These projects are on average 2-4 hours long and explore a variety of issues and service areas.
Summer
What better way to spend your summer than exploring service, giving back and having fun!? June through August, YVC puts on a series of week long programming that allows youth to more thoroughly experience a service area or non-profit agency. From spending a week at the Zoo helping with the plant life, to helping youth with disabilities experience day camp, we explore the many ways of giving back. Look for summer project sign up beginning in April!
Our Mission
To create volunteer opportunities that will enrich youth, address community needs, and promote the importance of volunteering.
