Frequently Asked Questions

Please note that many questions can be answered with our Youth Volunteer Handbook.  Please contact us with any additional questions.

How are volunteers supervised?

All projects are led and supervised by Team Leaders.  These leaders have been trained and go through a background check and screening process.  For more information please visit the volunteer page.

If I join the Corps do I have to come to every project?

No, but we hope you want to!  There is no time commitment requirement, but we expect members to attend on a somewhat regular basis.

Do I have to RSVP for a project?

YES!  To help us better serve those who attend and provide volunteer opportunities we expect all members to let us know if they will be attending a project.  If there is a last minute change and you decide to come, or not come please let us know.

Can parents attend YVC projects?

Since YVC is designed to let youth work in a group setting with their peers, projects are intended for youth only.  Arrangements for parents of individuals who would like to observe a project as a guest can be made.  Occasional family projects and events are scheduled and for these we encourage all family members to attend.

Does it cost anything to be a member?

There is no cost to join YVC.   However, to help cover the costs of maintaining the program, donations are welcome and accepted.  If you would like to contribute please visit the donations page.
