Day of Caring Center Pieces
To celebrate a wonderful summer, and kick off a great school year, we held an ice cream social celebration! Of course it wouldn’t be YVC without a little helping the community; and in preparation of United Way’s annual Day of Caring, we assembled event centerpieces. With three different stickers and colors to represent the building blocks of United Way – Give, Advocate and Volunteer – we folded and assembled over 300 boxes. With one of each word grouped together, they will be displayed on tables during the lunch kickoff at Day of Caring 2010. They resemble the building blocks of success and mission areas of United Way. After our work we enjoyed ice cream with all the toppings, and recognized volunteers for their hours of service. Unveiling our new recognition program, we awarded certificates and prizes to those who had reached our new levels of achievement.
